REMOVAL CHECKLIST

As soon as possible contact individual, local removal companies which are preferably recommended or well known in your area. Avoid the temptation of allowing internet companies to get you quotes from random movers or van/driver operations.

Arrange for a surveyor to call. Point out anything which is not to go, any special arrangements you require or any concerns you may have. He is there to help and put your mind at ease.

A FEW WEEKS BEFORE YOU MOVE

If you are planning to do your own packing begin well before your move. Get your own strong boxes or order some from your mover. Label boxes clearly and note which room you want them in.

NOTIFICATIONS

you may need to notify your new address to your Bank, credit and Store cards, Inland Revenue, Premium bonds, Pensions, Insurances, Driving licence and car documents, Phone/internet providers, Utilities, TV licence. Re-direction of your mail.

A FEW DAYS BEFORE YOU MOVE

Pack a small box/bag with essential toiletries, medications, important phone numbers and important documents you may need and keep this separate so it is not moved with your other goods.

TWO DAYS BEFORE YOU MOVE

Empty and defrost fridge/freezer unless advised not to do so. Ensure packets, bottles and jars are sealed to prevent leakage.

Resolve parking facilities outside both properties and lift access if necessary.

MOVING DAY

Settle the children and pets if they are staying with you during the move and maybe organise a room with toys/treats although your day will be less stressful if they are elsewhere while the move takes place.

Our team leader will introduce himself and his crew. Show him around the house pointing out what is going/staying and anything you require special attention of.

Once the vehicle is loaded check that all items to be moved are onboard.

At your new home everything is unloaded and placed in the appropriate rooms. Check everything is where you want it.

WE WISH YOU EVERY HAPPINESS IN YOUR NEW HOME
